Analyst Agent

Chat with the Dreambase Analyst Agent to explore your Supabase data, run analyst tasks, and get instant insights in plain English.

The Analyst Agent is the workspace-wide chat at the heart of Dreambase. It's a single conversation surface with access to everything in your workspace: every connected database, every API and MCP connector, every Skill, and every dashboard. This is the "One question away from clarity" composer on your homepage, and it's the agent you're talking to any time you ask a question, request a dashboard, or dig into your data in Dreambase.

This is distinct from a dashboard's own Analyst Agent panel, which is scoped to that single dashboard. The workspace Analyst Agent has no such scope. Ask it about any table, any connector, any Skill, or any dashboard in the workspace, and it draws on all of it.

What you can do from the Analyst Agent

  • Ask questions across all your data — "How is Active 30d trending across our user base?", "Summarize the latest insights from our Stripe connector."

  • Generate new dashboards and reports — describe what you want to see and reference the tables, Skills, or connectors that matter with the composer's mention syntax.

  • Request edits and follow-up analysis in natural language — refine a dashboard, ask a clarifying question, or pivot into a new line of analysis in the same thread.

  • Reference anything in the workspace directly:

    • # — mention a specific table.

    • / — mention a Skill.

    • @ — mention a dashboard, connector, or other item.

Persisted, context-aware conversations

Every conversation with the Analyst Agent is saved to the database, not ephemeral. Your homepage sidebar's Chats section lists every past conversation so you can return to a thread and keep building on it instead of starting over.

As a conversation grows, the Analyst Agent manages its own context automatically:

  • Retrieval — it pulls the most relevant prior turns into context instead of replaying the entire history every time.

  • Compression — older context is compressed rather than dropped, so long-running threads stay efficient without losing what mattered.

  • Self-improvement — the agent refines how it summarizes and carries context forward across a thread over time.

This is what makes the Analyst Agent get sharper the longer you work with it in a given thread. A dashboard built from a conversation with real history behind it comes out better planned and needs fewer rounds of edits, because the agent already understands what you're after.

Ask Dreambase: using the Analyst Agent outside Dreambase

The same Analyst Agent that powers your workspace chat is available externally as Ask Dreambase, a tool exposed through the Dreambase MCP server. Any MCP-compatible AI app, agent, schedule, or workflow can call Ask Dreambase to query your workspace's data, datasets, connectors, and Skills directly, with the same context and reasoning as the in-app Analyst Agent, without needing to open Dreambase.

This turns your workspace's Analyst Agent into infrastructure other tools can build on: pull a metric into another AI app, wire a scheduled workflow to ask Dreambase a standing question, or let an external agent reason over your connected data as part of a larger automation.
